The National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS) is a Federal Government initiative that provides individual support for eligible people with a permanent and significant disability, their families and carers. The NDIS is being rolled out as a trial from July 2013.

The following Down Syndrome SA programs are eligible for NDIS funding:
- Early Intervention
- Transition to preschool and school
- Right to Know
- Community and social activities
- Parent education
- Behavioural Support
- Occupational Therapy
- Speech Pathology
- Physiotherapy
- Life Education and Work Skills
- Transition to work.
